Choices is the story of a teenage girl, Kara, who wants to be more like other girls her age. She does not tell anyone what has happened until she discovers she is pregnant. After this happens, Kara blames herself for everything. She becomes depressed and hopeless. She thinks because she made bad decisions that she must suffer for them. But as the story unfolds, Kara learns a lot, and she grows.

I really enjoyed reading this book and it taught me some very good lessons. One of those lessons is that your parents tell you no because they want to protect you in every way possible. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way to understand why your parents are the way they are.

Anything can happen to anyone, at any time. But, if something happens to you, it is not always your fault. Sometimes you are a victim, and sometimes, just talking about it and getting your feelings out can help you begin to feel better.

"He's not here for me," complained Hailey. "We don't spend enough time together."

"She's too needy. I need space," complained her husband, Ryan.

"She's so demanding that I just don't feel like being with her lot. I wish she'd just back off. I need time with my friends."

In my counseling practice, I often see married couples where one spouse is emotionally dependent and antidepressant other is emotionally distant. Interestingly, both aspects of this system come from fear. Neediness - emotional dependency - comes from a deep fear of rejection, stemming from inner abandonment. Hailey gives responsibility to Ryan for her feelings. She doesn't have enough of an inner adult self to take care of her own feelings and needs, so she makes Ryan responsible for them.

Emotional distance also comes from fear - of engulfment. Not having a strong inner adult self to speak up against being controlled and smothered by Hailey, Ryan resists and distances as a way to feel safe.

In this codependent marriage system, each person is triggering the fears of the other. Hailey's anger and complaints trigger Ryan's fear of engulfment, while his distancing triggers Hailey's fear of abandonment. Then they respond to each other with the very behavior that continues to trigger the fear. They are caught enterprise web hosting a vicious circle, each blaming the other for the problems. Hailey really believes that if Marvel Super Heroes Ryan would spend more time with her, everything would be okay, while Ryan really believes that if only Hailey would back Worffromorf and stop pulling on him for time and attention, everything would be okay. Neither is accurate.

Ryan cannot make Hailey feel loved and safe as long as she is abandoning herself. Until Hailey starts to notice the thoughts that create her feelings of abandonment and develops her loving inner adult self who can take emotional responsibility for her own feelings, Hailey will be a bottomless pit. No matter how much time and attention Ryan gives her, it will never be enough because the inner abandonment will continue to make her feel alone.

On the other hand, even if Hailey does back off from pulling on Ryan for time and attention, it is likely he will continue to be emotionally distant. Hailey is not causing his fear of engulfment - it is being caused by not having a strong inner loving adult self to speak his truth and take care of him in the face of engulfment. As long as he does not know how to lovingly take care of himself in the face of Hailey wanting something from him, he will continue to emotionally distance. Even if Hailey is not making him responsible for her feelings, her just wanting anything with him or from him can trigger his fear of engulfment and resulting resistance.

Hailey and Ryan's marriage problems will not be solved just with agreements to spend time together, or agreements regarding when Ryan can spend time with his friends. Agreements often don't last because they may be covering over the real issues of control and resistance - coming from fears of abandonment and fears of engulfment. Agreements are often another form of control. Hailey and Ryan's codependent system can heal when both people commit to developing their loving adult self.

If both Ryan and Hailey practice taking responsibility for their own feelings instead of controlling or resisting each other, they will eventually develop their loving inner adult selves and become capable of:

Not taking rejection, resistance and emotional distance personally.

Filling themselves with love so that they are not needy for the other's time and attention.

Speaking the truth about not wanting responsibility for the other's feelings, without resisting, attacking or distancing.

Taking loving care of themselves without anger or distance.

Taking loving action in their own behalf to ensure against engulfment.

Sharing love instead of trying to get love or avoid pain.

If you find yourself often complaining that your husband or wife does not spend enough time with you, you might want to look at how you might not be taking emotional responsibility for your own feelings. If you find yourself complaining that you never get time alone or with friends, you might want to look at how you are not speaking up for yourself, not taking responsibility for your own needs. Rather than blaming your spouse, over whom you have no control, try opening to learning about what loving actions you need to take in your own behalf.

Automatically by doing this there will be peace. Just by doing this your whole world can change. Even if your experience is stress and unhappiness. If you allow the stress and unhappiness, there will be incredible peace. You will find a much deeper happiness underneath it all.

The fourth thing to do is watch your breathing. The great thing about breathing is that it is always happening now. So if you are watching your breathing, you are present. So notice the feeling of the breath moving in and out of your nostrils, or notice the sound of your breathing. Either one is fine. This helps keep you breathing.

So if your eyes are closed, you are noticing your breathing and you are allowing whatever thoughts, emotions and sensations to be as they are, then you are meditating! The more you can simply allow and witness your experience rather than become involved your experience, the deeper you will go into peace. And this peace in meditation can heal your physical, emotional and mental problems. It can lead to an incredible sense of love and joy that radiates out of you without reason or cause.

Lamont is easily attracted to her and invite her to dinner at a Chinese restaurant. She accepts. Meanwhile, Margo and her father are trying to stop the time sequence on the atomic bomb; they succeed. The Shadow and Shiwan have a battle of the mind in a room full of mirrors. The Shadow had a piece of the mirror strike Shiwan's brain, therefore defeating him. Shiwan ends up in an insane asylum, where one of the doctors is a friend of The Shadow. The doctor tells Shiwan that a part of his brain had to be removed, the part that is used for telepathy. Shiwan is left in a room at the asylum outraged. Lamont and Margo kiss each other and then parted ways.

It took me a while to catch Bootycall with everyone else but Dark Shadows comic done it and I'm really pleased that I've now got satellite TV on my PC. You need to download some software, but considering that it was only a 1-off payment of $50, I was quite happy.

I couldn't believe that there was no installation cost or monthly fee of any kind.

My next fear was being able to use the software, as I'm not the most computer literate person, I know. But this too, couldn't have been easier. The installation of the software was quick and easy and the toolbar a piece of cake! Before I knew it I was reading the descriptions of all the different channels I could choose from.

Once I'd decided what I wanted to watch, it was just a case of selecting my choice and then, before my eyes, my computer screen refreshed and I was watching my program.

What I particularly like is that I can bookmark and 'add to favourites' those shows that I really enjoy. Having TV on my PC Insidemilitary me the luxury of being able to do that sort of thing. Which I find a really bonus to my viewing plans.

The choice of channels and programs is fantastic and of course I can choose from both national and international shows. In fact, I can choose from over 70 countries and from over 3000 channels. The world is my oyster. I just have to remind myself that I've got a job to go to & a family to look after.

Maybe, the only disadvantage of having satellite TV on my PC is that I don't want to do much else!

I first started fishing catfish in my early childhood with my dad and though I have caught some Blue, and Flathead Catfish, Channel Catfish have always been my main target. I primarily fish them in the Snake and St.Croix Rivers and sometimes the Mississippi too. Wherever I can find donate a used car little nook and cranny where the current isn't so fast there always seem to Nova catfish hiding looking for some fresh bait. Catfish can also be found wherever you can find a rocky bottom to.

The main reason I use a lighter line is that your catfish is much less likely to notice any friction with lighter line compared to a heavier line. I like to fight the fish a little too, with a heavier line its to easy just to drag the fish in which I believe takes the sport and excitement out of it.

As far as hooks go I have always just used a smooth, medium sized hook, with no barbells on it. Catfish have very tough skin and I rarely loose a catfish after I have hooked them so you won't need a trebble hook or any special kind of hook for Catfishing. Before I put my hook on I always just slide one slip sinker on with the size of it going by how fast the river current is, and then one clip on sinker or a swivel to keep your sinker away from your bait. I like to put the sinker about 2 feet away from the bait so your bait can float and move around in the river current.

One last Catfishing tip I will give you here is in filleting them correctly. This is very Darkshadows if you want to get the best flavor out of your Catfish. I will put the Catfish on its stomach and then start with the tip of the knife right behind its head next to its spine and then slowly start slicing downwards until the fillet comes off. Then just cut your fillet off the skin. Now this part most of you probably already know as it is the same as most other fish. This is the important part. After you have your fillet in front of you there will be a yellowish strip running down the middle of the meat with a little bit of red on top of the fillet. This needs to be cut out or your Catfish will taste mushy and lose a lot of its flavor so don't forget. I also like to cut the head meat out of the larger ones usually at least 15 pounds, this is the whitest and best part of the Catfish. And prepare some homemade tartar sauce for a great meal with the whole family.

When I was a kid, I played outside unlimited conference calls hours and read more books than most people read in a lifetime. Yet somehow I still had time to watch TV. My step-father had an insane movie collection, and I collected more than a few favorites, which I watched over and over again. In fact, when he and my mom divorced, I may have missed the movies more than I missed the man! Curious, I looked up the American Film Institutes top car insurance quick quote movie quotes. And if you don't plug the right wires into the corresponding plugs, your system won't work. The one that every system has is the plug for the main speakers and it's pretty universal that green corresponds to these, and therefore should go into the green jack. If there aren't matching colors, the speaker jack should have some sort of symbol depicting a speaker or headphones radiating sound, or something similar. If you have anything more than a two speaker system, for example a 5 speaker surround sound system, you will have more to deal with. The green will be for the front left and right speakers, but you will have two more wires that correspond to the front center speaker and the back left and back right speakers. On my Logitech system these are black and Chocolate respectively. Now there is another jack for a microphone, which I have encountered as pink most of the time. But even without a color there should be a symbol depicting a microphone beside it.On a side note, most sound cards will have three plugs, one for the main speakers, another for the front center speaker, and one for a microphone. In order to have a surround sound computer system you usually need a higher end sound card that supports those extra back two. But don't worry if you have a big speaker set and don't have enough plugs for everything, the main speakers will still work, you'll just have to upgrade Cards to get the surround sound experience. Now if all else fails and your cords and plugs are the wrong colors and there aren't any symbols depicting which is which, a simple Rainydayz and error will eventually work, plug each wire into each plug, and one of them should eventually work.

3. Check windows volume control aren't turned down or muted.

I know I've done this a thousand times. Turned on some music, heard nothing, had a mini-panic attack about my speakers being broken, and then realizing that the sound was just muted. To start with, make sure your speakers themselves are turned on. Many speakers will have a button that turns them on when they're plugged in. They also may have a volume knob that you can turn to adjust the sound, make sure this isn't turned all the way down.Most applications that involve sound (for example windows media player or itunes) will have a built in volume control somewhere in the interface. These can look like a slider or meter that shows a speaker with sound waves coming out to show what it is. Make sure this is turned up and the mute box (if it has one) is unchecked. Now this step is a little bit more complex, though not awfully so. Sound cards have drivers that run them, so if there's no driver, then your sound card won't work. There sound be a driver CD that came with your computer with the right driver on it, so look for that and use the CD to install or re-install the driver. Failing that, most manufacturers will have the drivers to their products on their website so if you know the maker of your card you can simply go to the website and download it. Additionally if you know the model number of your card you can sometimes input that into Google or other search engine and it will take you to a site where you can download your driver. In order to find the model number of your card you have to look at the card and you have to take apart the computer to do so and I don't really recommend that unless you really know what you're doing.

With the upcoming release of The Dark Knight (the Grimorium Verum to Batman) I am reminded of the tragic loss of Heath Ledger. What really happened? Yes, we know Heath died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, but why? The reason is closely connected to his role as the Joker social anxiety disorder The Dark Knight and his other roles around that same time.

We know Heath turned to strong prescription drugs as a solution to his problems, which unfortunately lead to his tragic death. What was causing his sleepless and anxious nights? What made his mind race, exhausting his life force? "Last week I probably slept an average of mesothelioma settlement hours a night," he told The New York Times last November. "I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted and my mind was still going." Heath had been upfront about his lack of success using Ambien, something he mentioned in the same interview, when he said the pills "failed to work." Building a Bridge to Energy Independence

Average price of gas in January 2001, when George W. Bush took office - $1.50 per gallon.

Average price of gas today - $4.05 per gallon.

Many federal loan consolidation program say that since Bush took office gas prices have risen $2.55 per gallon. Fair enough. But, you're missing Clutch Cargo point.

Average price of gas in January 2007, when the Democrats took control of Congress - $2.40 per gallon.

Between January 2001 and January 2007 the average price of gas rose from $1.50 per conference calls unlimited to $2.40 per gallon. A rise of $0.90 per gallon in six years, or an average of $0.15 per year.

Between January 2007 and June 2008 the average price of gas rose from $2.40 per gallon to $4.05 per gallon. A rise of $1.65 per gallon in 1-1/2 years, or an average of $1.10 per year!

The point of this article is not to say either political party is more or less responsible for insanely high gas prices. The point is BOTH parties clearly do not care about the average American, and how high gas prices affect our daily lives. They just don't.

If they had any concern for you or me they would lift all Federal gas taxes to help us out. That would cut out about 15% of the price per gallon of gas.

If they had any concern for us they would allow us to drill for oil within the United States. They would allow more refineries to be built. They would approve clean, cheap, nuclear power.

They have done nothing except talk about idiotic proposals to tax oil company profits. That will only raise gas prices further because the oil companies sure aren't going to give away their profits and make less money. They will pass on the cost of tax increases to US, and probably 3-4 times the amount they lose from increased taxes.

The bottom line is we cannot trust useless politicians to change anything. We have to do it ourselves, and force idiot politicians to go along with it. Like it or not. That would be change we can believe in.

It would be great if we could all plug in our electric cars tomorrow, and never use a drop of gas again. However, we can't. We need to build a bridge to energy independence that will not bankrupt us.

In the short-term we need cheap oil to keep our cars and trucks on the road. As new technologies develop over the next ten years we can shift to electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. We could then realistically no longer need oil for any transportation by 2020.

How do we build the bridge, and how do we force oil prices down by 50-60% in a matter of weeks?

It's already begun. American Solutions, a group started by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, has begun an online petition asking Congress to allow us to "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less." More than a million people have already signed the petition. Poll after poll shows that Americans overwhelmingly support domestic drilling for oil to lower prices.

Those opposed to domestic drilling argue that even if Congress approved domestic drilling tomorrow, it would be 2-3 years before that oil would get to market. They argue domestic drilling will do nothing to lower oil prices because the global market sets the price of oil.

Wrong. In the last Missouri Lemon Laws weeks since gas went over $4.00 per gallon in the U.S. the people of America started making their voices heard. They want something done about the high price of gas, and they want to see action now. We have also started driving less, which has decreased demand. Just the notion that Americans are angry, and want something done has already prompted the Saudis to announce they will increase production. They also held a summit of oil producing nations to discuss the "crisis" of high oil prices.

Just the threat of possible Congressional action to allow domestic oil production already has the Saudis spooked. If Congress actually took action the real source of high oil prices, the speculators who make money trading oil futures, would begin to dump their oil future holdings. They would know that domestic oil production in the United States would reduce the future price of oil significantly. That would drop the price of oil on the international market by 50-60% almost immediately.

To insure that oil prices stay low for Americans Congress should demand that all oil produced in the United States only be available to the American market. It is conceivable that we could produce enough oil domestically to supply 80% of our consumption needs within 3 years. Some believe there may be enough oil in shale in the Rocky Mountains to supply all domestic oil needs, and even have a surplus. If American oil was only sold in America the price would likely be in the $30-$40 per barrel range. That would bring gas prices down to a reasonable $1.50 per gallon range.

Now, that is the bridge. This is not a permanent solution. No matter how much oil we can produce in the U.S. it will only last for a finite amount of time. It would be foolish to think that even if we had 40-50 years worth of oil that we should just wait until it runs out to replace it as an energy source. Not to mention the environmental impact of continuing to burn fossil fuels. We need to develop clean, renewable sources of energy.

Another provision Congress should include in allowing domestic drilling is that oil companies invest 15% of their profits in new energy Scooby and Scrappy Doo Puppy Hour Rather than tax oil profits, which does nothing except put money in the government coffers to be wasted on nothing, Congress should demand those profit dollars be spent on developing new, clean forms of energy. The oil companies can then transform themselves over the next decade from oil companies to energy companies. We will need the oil companies' massive infrastructure to deliver these new sources of energy, and the government cannot demand the oil companies spend money to put themselves out of business.

The most important investment would be to begin replacing one or two gas pumps with hydrogen refueling pumps. The hydrogen fuel cell car is already a reality. They are being sold in Japan, and tested in Southern California right now. The hurdle is that no one wants to buy a car they can't refuel at the station down the street. If hydrogen pumps began to appear at local gas stations all over the country, the demand for hydrogen fuel cell cars would grow exponentially. This would drive down the price of hydrogen fuel cell cars, and of hydrogen fuel.

Automobile manufacturers would make more hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and more hydrogen pumps would be added. Over the next 10-15 years there would be no gasoline powered vehicles made anymore, and the term "hydro station" would replace "gas station." The massive investment in hydrogen and other forms of energy would not just be for automobiles, but for jet engines as well. Air travel would be transformed with clean fuel sources, and air planes would be built with lighter, more fuel efficient materials. We would be free of fossil fuels for transportation.

What about energy to power our homes and businesses?

Congress also needs to approve new nuclear power plants to supply electricity for our homes and businesses. Nuclear power is cheap, clean, and now more than ever safe. The country needs 50-60 such facilities to handle the power needs of today, and to prepare for the power needs of the next 50 years.

Another solution to power needs is solar and wind power. It is unlikely that massive solar or wind power facilities will ever be effective sources of power for millions of customers. However, solar and wind power can be effective power sources for individual homes and small businesses. The major hurdle today is cost. A single wind tower costs up to $50,000 to install. Solar panels are not as expensive as in the past, but are still expensive enough that many homeowners are not able to easily afford them.

The solution is for Congress to approve tax incentives for homeowners and small businesses to install solar or wind power. By allowing a tax incentive of up to 75% of the cost of a wind tower or solar system homeowners and small businesses would be far more likely to install such systems. Such incentives would create a massive reduction in demand on the major power grids. This would then make these grids more capable of handling spikes in demand during summer months, and make the grids easier to maintain and upgrade.

These rather simple steps, if enacted now would make the United States completely energy independent by the mid 20's. We would also be green and clean, which would benefit the environment immensely. Further, we would be the leader in clean energy development, and the rest of the world would follow, as they always do.

Demand that Congress take action now. YOU have the power because this is an election year. Let your Senators and Representatives know that if they don't support building a bridge to energy independence you're going to fire them. Forget which political party they belong to. Finally, youre sewn up and ready for recovery but super surgeon and his crack anesthesiologist are having a heated discussion about the science of their golf games and have seeming forgotten youre passed out underneath them with tubes stuck in every orifice. However, if you asked any of these artists, they would say that they consider music to be their careerand shouldnt a career be treated with the same importance and professionalism whether youre a budding rockstar or an established surgeon? It should, but often its not and bands then find their reputations are tarnished with labels like: slow, lazy, and irresponsible simply because they seem unable to get their show on (and off) in a timely manner. Get branded as a slovenly flake and watch the music industry folks jump ship faster than the rich ladies on the Titanic.

The following are a few tips that will help you to get up, get on and get off in a timely, professional manner that will impress the powers-that-be and leave you fans wanting more:

1.) Have Everything Set Up Before You Set Up---Its not like you just found out you were playing five minutes before. Gigs are booked days, weeks or months in advance so theres no reason not to be well informed and well equipped prior to your arrival and set up. Pick up your instruments, haul them of stage, and take them outside or into the green room. There you can wrap your gear up, clean it off, and pack it away into cases and into your cars. Then, its time to toss back a few beers and gab with the masses until closing time, without interrupting the flow of the evening.

If this were youre A&R experience, youd give up waiting to speak with these lazy musicians, go back to your label and tell them to forget about this particular band and these hot-shot rockstars will wind up working at Starbucks until they go on Social Security.
